WHAT WE PAY — HONEST PRICING GUIDE

We get asked this all the time, so here it is straight. What we offer depends on four things: condition, rarity, demand, and how much work is involved in selling it.

Unlike some buyers, we won't just cherry-pick the best records and leave you with the rest. We'll always give you an honest assessment of the whole collection.

PREMIUM — Up to 40–50% of market value

Rare pressings, original UK first pressings in excellent condition, deleted albums with strong collector demand, Northern Soul and Funk 7"s, rare Jazz, limited editions. These are records we know we can sell quickly and at a good price — so we can pay you more.

Examples: Original UK Harvest Pink Floyd pressings, rare Northern Soul 45s, early Bowie or Sabbath originals in VG+ or better condition, rare reggae pressings, deleted limited editions.

STANDARD — 25–40% of market value

Good condition records across popular genres — Rock, Indie, Punk, Classic Soul, 80s Pop, Electronic — that have solid but not exceptional demand. Common pressings in good condition. Most healthy collections fall into this bracket.

Examples: Later pressings of classic albums in VG condition, mainstream 80s and 90s albums, standard soul compilations, most 12" dance singles.

LOW DEMAND — 5–25% of market value, or selective purchase

Records we'll take a few of but can't buy in bulk. Easy listening, most classical (unless rare or unusual), cheesy pop, or anything in below-average condition. We may take the best items and decline the rest — we'll always tell you why.

WE CAN'T BUY THESE

Records with severe damage (cracked, badly warped, broken sleeves), most easy listening compilations, and very common charity-shop records with no collector demand. We'd rather be honest upfront than waste your time.

Examples: Reader's Digest box sets, standard classical compilations, heavily scratched records, most budget-label easy listening.

Step 2 — We'll get back to you
Usually same day. We'll let you know if it sounds like something we'd be interested in and give you a rough idea of what we might offer.

Step 3 — We arrange to view or collect
For bigger collections in Leicestershire and the East Midlands, we'll come to you. For smaller lots, you're welcome to bring them to us or we can discuss postage for smaller parcels.

Step 4 — You get paid
Cash, bank transfer, or PayPal — whatever works for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you buy single records or just full collections?
Both. If you've got one very rare single or a thousand LPs, we want to hear from you.

Do I need to clean the records before you look at them?
No need. We'll assess them as they are.

How do you work out what a record is worth?
We use historical online sales data, and years of buying and selling experience. We always show our working if you ask.

Will you take classical records?
It depends. Standard classical compilations on budget labels are very hard to sell, so we usually can't offer much. But rare original pressings or unusual labels can be worth something — send us details and we'll have a look.

I'm outside Leicester — can you still help?
Yes. We buy collections across the UK. For large collections we can travel; for smaller lots we can advise on the best way to get records to us.

What about CDs and cassettes?
We buy CDs and cassettes selectively — mainly rare, deleted, or collectible items. Send us a list and we'll see what we can do.
